The Australia Council for the Arts had been in their existing premises for many years, spread over multiple floors with many enclosed rooms. There was a strong desire for change but understandable hesitancy.

Moving any firm that has been in the same space for 35 years was never going to be easy. However in this case Clemenger’s new location was a heritage listed wharf. The complex statutory approval process, in conjunction with a base building upgrade, tested the available timeframe, plus the ingenuity of the team.

Spitfire Control managed the relocation of Diageo to North Sydney back in 2012. When they recommitted to the space in 2019 they also recognised that some parts of the fitout no longer suited their current work practices. Some spaces were redundant, others needed change.

A one of a kind project for us, the scale and complexity of LinkedIn, coupled with the off shore location of the client made this a difficult project to manage. We had 11 reporting lines with responsibilities for different sectors of the project from facilities and branding through to nutrition and wellness of the staff to consider and communicate with.

This was our second project with Morningstar and involved a move to a floor under construction at the Barangaroo towers in Sydney. The project brief called for a fully agile workplace which was an exciting opportunity for the whole team.

Occasionally projects crop up that simply do not fit the mould of Corporate Real Estate. The office and showroom for the Camilla fashion empire was once such project. The team was tasked with producing a creative space for this unique brand within an old tennis ball factory. It shook when trucks drove by, had graffiti on the walls, and pigeons.
