Makinson d’Apice had been in their existing office space for many years and the configuration was starting to impact upon their business. They needed to move to new premises that could allow them to grow, and better more effective, but not at an increase to their bottom line.
When Spitfire Control was appointed, the designers and the tenant advisor were already on board. Things were progressing but the day-to-day client representative was drowning. As the COO of the firm, the requirements of the project upon his time were too great.
We were engaged to provide a Project Director role, a bridge between the designers and the partners to derisk the project. In this role we formalised the appointment of the consultant team, sought all the required approvals and drove the Building Owner to expedite their base building works. We also were required to manage the negotiations with their existing landlord for the required make good which was settled at satisfactory release figure. We then managed the construction phase to ensure that the budget and agreed time were maintained.
